Mesh strength and bushfire rating

Gutterguard comes in four mesh grades: 3.5mm aluminium standard and heavy-duty, 1.9mm woven or perforated aluminium, and 1.9mm stainless steel ember guard. The ember guard option is tested to AS 3959-2018 and AS/NZS 1530.3 with a spread of flame index of 0, covering BAL-12.5 to BAL-FZ. That matters if your Shell Cove home sits near bushland edges or if local fire risk is a concern. All options handle the Illawarra's heavier rainfall without overflow.
